5 Ways to Treat Yourself Right Now in Guernsey

It’s that time of the year where we can often feel the need to deprive ourselves in some way. Eat less, drink less (or not at all), go out less, spend less, have less fun… You’re probably achieving that last one if you're on board with any of the others! So why not turn things around? Why not give yourself a break and give yourself something instead of taking something away from yourself.

Just like our tips to crowd out bad habits, we aren’t going for less. We’re going for well. In order to #livelifewell we urge you to treat yourself a little. Create a special moment in your life. Then create another. Make it a habit in your life to take time for you. It can be spending an hour with a new book, going for a coffee or a quiet glass of wine alone or with a friend, or book a fitness class.

To help you get started, we’ve rounded a few ideas to treat yourself this month in Guernsey.

1. Book a Spa Day

Just a few hours out of your day to day life can be enough to reset. Do it regularly enough and you won’t need the reset! The Old Government House Hotel and Spa has a range of indulgent and relaxing spa treatments to help you to relax and recharge with some serious pampering to reset your body and your mind. Escape from the pressures of everyday life and unwind in the sanctuary of the spa, then re-enter the world with a renewed sense of wellbeing.

2. Treat Yourself to Some New Nightwear

Treat yourself to a little luxury loungewear to create a special moment every time you get ready for bed. It will be a wonderful addition to your evening routine. Whether you grab an elegant chemise from Plaisirs or some M&S comfies, it will give you a reason to smile as you put them on, because you know that you took a moment to treat yourself.

3. Enjoy A Wellness Weekend

Want to prolong the fun? Why not book a weekend in Alderney? The island's boutique Literary Festival is taking place over the weekend of 18 - 20 March, so head over and check in for a few nights with the event's sponsor, The Blonde Hedgehog. Or try a yoga retreat weekend to enjoy time for yourself to reconnect with body, mind and soul? BeInspired is running a spring Yoga and Wellbeing Retreat in SarkBook something now.

4. Do Something Different with Friends

When was the last time you got your friends to go for a cliff walk all together? Or go for dinner and catch up? You know there’s one place you all keep saying you should try. Why not try hot yoga? Or aerial yoga. Or boxing. You could start a book club.

We spotted that St Pierre Park hotel is running a Swiss Fondue Extravaganza evening and we thought we HAD to include it in this list. How fun does it sound to enjoy an evening with friends dipping and scooping and talking and laughing? From cheese to chocolate, they’ve got all bases covered. It sounds like a little piece of winter heaven to us. The perfect way to embrace the season.

5. Invest in Yourself

Take a course to expand your mind. Do you want to learn a new language or learn how to be more mindful? Samata Russell has offers a Soul Embodiment Course. If you want to understand yourself better, then it may be for you. Through the power of movement and meditation, you can do just that. You will learn techniques such as EFT and learn to listen to yourself, tune into your intuition and allow yourself to live a beautiful and happy life. If this sounds like something you need, we recommend getting in touch with Samata for a chat.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure that you make it a habit to invest in yourself!
