From sunrise yoga in the pavilion to a Hot Haus sauna by the sea, there are lots of ways to enjoy The Bathing Pools, with or without a sea swim. It’s a natural turning point for a slow Sunday stroll around the harbour, or for a more strenuous cliff path walk out towards Fermain. Whatever your reason for visiting, we recommend it includes a cuppa and a bacon roll with a sea view in the friendly café
Escape from the pressures of everyday life with a spa day in one of the local hotels. The spas at The OGH and St Pierre Park are both favourites of ours. Alternatively, enjoy a spa experience in the comfort of your own home, by taking all of the elements of a spa day and DIY-ing it. Set the mood with soft lighting, relaxing music and scented candles. Then draw a bubble bubble bath, pop a face mask on, maybe a hair mask too, and enjoy.
Netflix may have seen you through the winter months, but it’s time now to get off the couch and enjoy an evening of pure escapism by taking in a movie at the cinema. With bigger screens, better sound - and of course, popcorn - you can lose yourself with a more immersive experience. Book your seats at The Mallard Cinema or celebrate a special occasion with a private cinema package at The Fermain Valley Hotel.
The Guille- Allès library is a lovely place to while away an hour or two. We could focus soley on the books but there is so much more to take in. The building itself is worth exploring, with so many little nooks where you can tuck yourself away to escape for a while. Sit mindfully in the Assembly Room and add a few pieces to the community jigsaw, play a board game, grab a book and pencils and colour for a while or take part in the free weekly lunchtime meditation sessions. Or pop into the newly refurbed Fab Lab which gives you access to cutting edge technology so you can learn, create and discover almost anything.

Oaty and Joey’s Playbarn and Le Friquet Garden Centre both have soft play areas for the little ones and the library runs regular events to keep the kids entertained. If the weather permits, try a round of crazy golf at Nineteen, but for indoor fun Iris and Dora is a favourite spot for crafting, as is Craftwise, where you can stock up on crafting materials for kids of all ages - yes, that includes all of you big kids out there!
