5 Ways To Well with Samata Russell

Samata is a Healer, a Creative and an Astrologer who lives in tune with nature and the cosmos. Here are her wellbeing essentials.

1.  Being Creative.

Painting, writing, making videos, holding groups and being a solopreneur are the ways my creativity wants to express itself right now. It can feel easy sometimes to fall into a life of consuming more than creating but when this happens I find it frustrating, dull and depressing. Creating something that didn’t exist before feels like my very own kind of magic. It makes life sparkle.

2.  Cyclical Living.

Since electricity lit up our lives, we have been able to maintain a steady level of productivity all of the time. But that isn’t good for us, particularly women. Life is cyclical. The seasons, moons, menstrual cycle, circadian rhythm, all follow the same pattern of birth, blossoming decay and death. Every life, relationship or project will follow this too. Decaying and death can be hard, but when we turn consciously towards what needs to be released, life gets more easeful. I have been tracking my cycle and working with astrological cycles for years now and it definitely grows a sense of patience and timing, as well as the trust that after every death will come a rebirth.

3.  Spending Time in Nature.

Being in nature is medicine for the soul. It reminds us who we are beneath the busy to do lists and the roles we are conditioned to play. When I’m feeling stressed I will often go outside to a secluded spot and just sit and breathe, watch the leaves blow in the wind and journal. It lifts my spirits every time.

4.  Heart to Heart Moments.

I’m not much of a small talk person. I want to know what makes your heart beat faster, what you long for, what you’re overcoming. Spending time in proper heart to heart chats is sometimes what’s needed!

5.  Caring For My Body.

Nutrition is really important to me, as are yoga and movement and taking care of my body. I’ve worked with Grace Galliott this year on a few cleanses, which have been amazing and made a huge difference to how I feel.
