Kay shares her 5 wellbeing essentials with us.

Almost everything I eat or drink I take care over; from the plate it is served on to my special glass coffee cup. I eat wild or regeneratively farmed, organic or local produce wherever I can. Before each meal, I ask myself what am I hungry for and then plan texture and colour around that, eating with my eyes as well as my taste buds, savouring each small mouthful.
My rescue ragamuffin dog Hamish taught me so much about how to Live Well. He would bark at me to hurry up and take him for his morning walk. “Time is precious Kay, let’s go!!” He would race to the front door, even when he was old and wobbly, excitedly anticipating the start of another day of adventure. I lost him 2 years ago but now I run to the front door with glee and joy in his honour, grateful for every new day.
I’m not a big beauty routine kinda girl, but I started dry brushing in my early 30’s and I still love doing it today for silky smooth skin. It’s a little morning ritual to get the circulation flowing and up my feel-good factor.
Changing my physiological state helps me stay the best version of me. From remembering to walk ‘sternum high’ which also helps me breathe better to smiling more, it changes how I feel about myself or any moment. My Gran taught me, “Smile and the whole world smiles with you” and it’s such an effortless habit with such lovely ripple effects.
My favourite way to fall asleep is to (hopefully) watch the stars from my pillow for a few minutes, but even on cloudy nights I then close my eyes and try to think of 3 things from my day.
1. What have I done for someone else today.
2. What have I done to personally grow today, mentally, physically or spiritually.
3. What have I done today that made me happy or smile.
