Professional Make Up Artist Emily shares her 5 wellbeing essentials.

Ever since my husband bought me a milk frother, I look forward to my morning milky coffee with genuine excitement. But before I take that first sip, I always start the day with a large glass of water to rehydrate after a night’s sleep. I’ll admit, I’m not as consistent with my water intake throughout the day as I used to be, but that first glass is non-negotiable.
Even in winter, I will never skip applying SPF 50 to my face, neck and chest. It’s the final step of my morning skincare routine before I apply my make up for the day.
At the end of each day, my husband and I always take time to debrief. Sharing what went well, what felt challenging and everything in between. It’s our space to offload, listen and offer each other perspective. I've never appreciated this time more than I do now. Balancing work while raising a four-year-old and a two-year-old can be overwhelming at times, and I feel incredibly grateful to have a partner who listens and makes me feel heard.
As any makeup artist will tell you, great makeup starts with great skin prep. Our makeup is only ever as good as the skin beneath it, which is why I never skip my skincare routine, no matter how long the day has been or how tempting it is to crawl straight into bed.
Family time with my husband and children, with my parents and brother makes me the happiest. I love spending quality time exploring Guernsey together or simply just being together and enjoying delicious food.
