Amanda, Manager at The OGH Spa, shares her 5 wellbeing essentials.
I start my morning with a prayer and devotions. I fill my mind with thoughts that are good, clean, right, lovely and pure. When I do this, I find that my day always starts and ends beautifully even with any pressures that I might get at work and home.
I am trying to learn new skills whenever possible and I recently learnt how to crotchet, which I am really enjoying. I find it to be relaxing and therapeutic. I have also started to go to the Gym for a workout, and I do that once a week.
Making time for my book club is my break away from work and kids. My friends and I discuss a book over dinner, and do a bit of venting at the end of the session. We find that it's a good opportunity to talk about some of the issues we each might be facing, and we support and encourage each other.
With three kids, I hardly ever get a chance for some me time, so now I have started making time to do my nails every two weeks and I give myself a facial weekly. Doing my own facial doesn't beat having someone else doing it for you professionally, but I have been loving making time to pamper myself.
I walk to the park with the kids and let them run around and play during the weekend, whilst I have a cup of cocoa. I absolutely love seeing them playing and enjoying themselves while they’re running around.
