5 Ways To Well with Abby Duncan

Abby Duncan, Founder of Little House of Sun, shares her wellbeing essentials with us.

Family Dog Walks.

Getting out in nature with the people you love is a great way to move your body, unwind and connect. We like to combine our walks with practising gratitude. For example, say three things you are grateful for that day and try to make them different from previous days. It can be the simplest things, like the birds singing in the trees, to the sun shining. But taking a moment to think about what you are grateful for can help you see the bigger picture in life.

Connecting.

I love connection, whether it's with friends, family, nature or animals. Engaging and spending time with the people I love or in an environment I love is really important and brings me so much joy.

Creating.

Writing and journaling, painting and drawing, I love having a creative outlet to express myself and my ideas. I’ve had a yearly journal since my early twenties, and it’s a practice that really helps me process my emotions, make sense of the world and document life. I’ve found it reassuring to reflect and look back on the journey I’ve been on and the lessons I’m learning.

Meditation.

Meditation is really important to me. It helps bring my body, mind and soul into alignment. Whether it's chanting, focusing on my breath or holding a specific intention for healing. Meditation is my go-to. It helps to bring me back into the now when outer distractions or triggers knock me off course. It is the foundation for my practice in my day-to-day and work life; it is my anchor.

Self-healing.

Whether it's working with crystals, light language, essential oils, Reiki or sound, having regular maintenance and self-healing practices is essential for me. Especially when working with clients, I need to ensure I maintain a clear channel. I will often get nudged by my intuition if I have gone too long without doing a deep dive into my own healing.
