8 Podcasts To Choose From On Your Walk This Week

 

If you’re a fan of a podcast it’s hard to imagine life before you found them. Whether you tune in when you’re travelling, exercising, doing the chores or simply out for a walk, there’s a podcast you can turn to fit your mood. If you’re new to the world of podcasts, believe us when we say, you’ll soon wonder how you got through your week without one.

But with so many podcasts out there it can be a bit overwhelming trying to find ‘the one’  that's right for you. And that’s where we come in! We’ve got a few favourites to share with you - here’s what the team here at The List is listening to right now.

 

 

1.  Happy Place Podcast.

Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place is an ideal podcast  to turn to in the world of wellbeing if you’re looking for an inspiring and relatable listen. Fearne talks about ‘life, love, loss and everything in-between’ encouraging us all to find our own personal happy place. The guest list is impressive, with something for everyone. 2.  My Therapist Ghosted Me.

Best friends Vogue Williams and Joanne McNally got together when Joanne was actually ghosted by her therapist… and what better therapy than a chat and a laugh with your best friend! Their dry Irish humour and hilariously honest take on everyday situations make this a light hearted, laugh out loud listen. And nothing is off limits. It’s like listening to two of the coolest women you know, talking like no one is listening.They give totally unqualified and refreshingly honest advice on a whole range of issues - some you can relate to, some leave speechless!

At just 27 he resigned as CEO and launched his podcast with the sole mission of sharing his knowledge to help others create the life they want. He pulls in some big names who share their life lessons, combining business advice with personal stories and wellbeing tips. 

 

4.  Feel Better, Live More.

Dr Rangan Chatterjee unpacks some of the common health issues that we all face, using his professional knowledge as a GP but keeping it simple so as not to overwhelm. Along with his expert guest, he gives advice to help you eat well, sleep better, move more and relax, with easy life hacks. His podcasts are quite long, lasting around 2 hours, but there are also bitesize episodes you can tap into.

 

5. Ten Percent Happier.

This podcast arose from the understanding that although we have more resources than ever telling us how to be happy, many of us struggle find contentment. So what does it actually take to lead a happier life? Dan Harris tries to help us find ways to figure it out, with guests that range from meditation teachers to scientists, and include well known figures including the Dalai Lama, Brené Brown and Karamo from Queer Eye. It works on the premise that happiness is a skill you can train, just like working out in the gym.

 

6.  Should I Delete That?

Alex Light and Em Clarkson dive into some of the more controversial conversations taking place on social media, looking beyond the headlines, tackling shame and having a laugh along the way. They are not afraid to tackle the bigger issues that are making headlines, and they're equally happy debating light hearted topics, exploring the nuances that are often left out of the social media soundbites. Entertaining and thought provoking, what more could you ask for on your walk?

 

7. Big Fish.

Former reality TV star Spencer Matthews decided to adopt a sober life 2019 after years of excessive drinking. This lifestyle change inspired him to take on new challenges and in his podcast he talks to entrepreneurs and famous faces about what it takes to overcome life's obstacles and be the best at what you do. A key theme is how to turn your life around and develop a mindset for success, with inspiring, real life examples of people finding their true purpose.

 

8. How To Fail.

The longevity of Elizabeth Day's podcast speaks volumes. Now in season 17, this is a podcast that celebrates things that haven't gone quite to plan. We've all been there, right? The message here is that we're all human and we all make mistakes, but we can learn from our perceived failures and go on to achieve success. The guests, many of whom are well known figures, are refreshingly honest and open when sharing their struggles and their journeys to self acceptance.
