Journalists Alex Light and Em Clarkson dive into some of the more controversial conversations taking place on social media, looking beyond the headlines, tackling shame and having a laugh along the way. They are not afraid to tackle the bigger issues that are making headlines, from politics to ozempic and beyond, and they're equally happy debating light-hearted topics. Funny, relatable and unfiltered, it’s about finding lessons in the messy, awkward and real parts of life. It's nice to hear some honest, relatable opinions in a world filled with diet culture and PR tactics.

 

2.  Begin Again

Everyone loves a bit of Davina, which is why Steven Bartlett's Flight Studio snapped her up to launch this podcast dedicated to 'empowering people to embrace midlife' as a time of growth and rediscovery. Davina wants to encourage people to live a full life with no regrets. As much as we love to see midlife as the topic of mainstream podcast, the the guest list and topics covered span generations as they focus on self improvement and education, so it's worth a listen, whatever your age.

 

3.  Happy Place

The original podcast, as we have recently heard it called, Happy Place has an episode for everything. Fearne Cotton talks ‘personal, spiritual and the big picture’ with a whole host of wellbeing experts, authors & big name celebs who form an impressive line-up of guests. It's an inspiring and relatable listen. 

 

4.  The Therapy Crouch

The Therapy Crouch brings together model Abbey Clancy and former England footballer Peter Crouch in a refreshingly honest weekly podcast. With a mix of humour and heart, the married couple dive into love, marriage, parenting and everything in between - often sparked by listener questions. It’s candid, funny and at times surprisingly raw, with no topic off-limits.

 

5.  Dig It

Long-time friends and veteran broadcasters Zoe Ball and Jo Whiley pull back the curtain on midlife, sharing candid chats on family life, ageing, health, homes and music. As the name suggests, Dig It started from conversations around a love of gardening but it has blossomed into so much more. It’s warm, funny and refreshingly real about navigating life’s seasons.

Journalist, author & mental health advocate Bryony Gordon hosts this honest weekly podcast, where taboo topics are tackled head-on. From mental health struggles like anxiety, depression and addiction to relationships, identity, motherhood, body image, burnout and grief - with plenty of moments of laughter and vulnerability in the mix. Guests include experts, celebrities, and everyday people, plus there’s a listener-interaction element 'The Life of YOU', where Bryony attempts to solve audience dilemmas.

Arguably the biggest podcast in the world these days, Steven Bartlett remains relatable with his high quality productions. Hosted by Giovanna Fletcher, Happy Mum, Happy Baby takes a heartfelt look at parenthood in all its forms, from fertility and pregnancy to empty nesting. With celebrity guests and experts, it’s warm, honest and refreshingly real about the highs, lows and everything in between. It’s the kind of podcast that makes you feel less alone in the rollercoaster of parenting, Much like Giovanna herself, it feels like a big hug wherever you are in your parenting journey.

 

9. Great Company with Jamie Laing

As the name suggests, Great Company with Jamie Laing hosts the kind of conversations you wish you could pull up a chair for. Jamie sits down with famous friends and fascinating people for lively chats full of energy, humour and a touch of mischief, as well as serious topics that you may not associate Jamie with but that are tackled in a really welcoming way. It’s easy listening that feels like time well spent.

 

10. On Purpose with Jay Shetty

Former monk, storyteller and motivational speaker Jay Shetty brings calm, wisdom and clarity to the noise of everyday life.
