Walk and Talk

Sunday mornings at 9.00am

Join the growing group of islanders who get together on a Sunday morning to 'Walk and Talk' with the local Red Balloons walking group.

There's no cost and no need to book in advance. Everyone is welcome, just turn up and enjoy a walk at a gentle pace, where you can talk as much or as little as you want... there's no pressure.

During the winter months the hour long walk takes place on Sunday mornings at 9.00am, and it switches to Mondays evenings at 6.00pm during the summer months. Organiser Jason Hamon posts weekly updates to share details of the meeting place in advance.

Red Balloons is a charitable organisation where mental health goes hand in hand with physical exercise and well being. The team all have their own lived experiences, and are trained to be supportive, encouraging and motivating.

They aim to help their members improve and manage their mental health, through physical activity and talking, and are committed to offering an inclusive and safe space for people to learn to manage their physical and mental health, with a network of support behind them.

They are dedicated to helping build a happier and healthier environment, where mental health can be discussed as openly and as confidently as physical health. The aim is to reduce stigma, raise awareness of the trickier subjects such as suicide, work towards suicide prevention and help bust any myths around mental health.
