Our Co-founder Tracey's Christmas Wish List.

I love Christmas. The tree, the lights, the food and drink, the movies - all of it. And I love choosing gifts for my family and friends. But when I started writing this wish list for me, I realised that what l want most of all when the big day comes around is to slow things right down and enjoy time at home with my family. My wish list reflects this.

Comfy loungewear, cosy socks, pampering treats and a reverse family IOU tradition all feature on my gift wish list this year. It’s maybe not the most exciting of lists, but it’s exactly what I would love to find in my stocking this year!

1.  Comfy Loungewear

For me, the time between Christmas and New Year is the perfect opportunity to pull back and spend time with my family. That means spending lots of time at home and I want to feel comfortable, but I don’t necessarily want to stay in my PJs - well, not every day! - so cue some stylish new casual clothing. This luxury wool knit jumper and relaxed wide leg joggers from M&S would tick the box. Laid back, elegant, comfy and cosy - just perfect!.

2.  A Pampering Session

Having a spa treatment has always tended to be something I save for special occasions, but I’m hoping that 2025 might be the year where I try to make it more of a regular occurrence. It’s time to start looking after my skin properly so I’d like to book in for regular treatments and a gift card for one of the local spas or beauty salons would definitely help kick start this new regime. I’m also looking to upgrade my skincare regime at home this year and this Elemis Superfood Midnight Facial or a Pro-Collagen Gift Set would be a real treat.

3.  Almost Lipstick

I recently discovered Clinique Almost Lipstick Black Honey - and then my daughter discovered it and now I’m in the market for a replacement! ‘Not quite lipstick, not quite gloss’, it’s a tinted gloss with a little more colour but the same moisturising feel of a lip balm. I don’t wear a lot of makeup but this is so easy to apply and feels so natural - I love it. And it’s also now available in Pink Honey, so if Santa is feeling extra generous this year… just saying!

4.  A Good Book & Cosy Socks

I did warn you that this list wouldn't be the most exciting, but stick with me! I read all the time, and although I mainly download books on my tablet these days, you just can’t beat the feel and smell of a new book at Christmas. I usually like to escape with some romance or a crime thriller, but this year I’m open to a surprise read from Writer’s Block. Ideally I would like to curl up in front of the fire with my new book… and some cosy new socks! I love these hand knitted Fair Isle slipper socks from BIBICO - they’re available locally from Plaisirs

5.  IOU In Reverse

When my kids were little I used to gift them a ‘promise’ to try to balance out the commercial side of Christmas in some small way. I would hand make an IOU card that they could cash in during the holidays. Sometimes it involved a small cost, but mainly it was about them being in charge and deciding the ‘what’ or ‘where’. Pancakes for brunch, movie night, a crafts session or a special dinner… that type of thing. Now they’re grown up, I would like this in reverse, where they ‘IO-Me’ the same type of thing - organised, and cleared away afterwards, by them, of course.
