This week local barre influencer Emily Chadwick-Vint launched her very own fitness platform, with the majority of the content inspired by and created here in Guernsey. The Goddess Movement takes the barre method and, in Emily’s words, ‘sprinkles magic on top’.
The thing about Emily is that she appears to have a very authentic relationship with her followers and the people who take her classes, both online and in person, which we’re sure is a natural reflection of the fact that her personality is very authentic online. Emily practices what she preaches. And her new platform is a combination of all of those things she talks about daily. From embracing the power of nature with her regular sea swims and waking up with the sun to start her days to syncing her activities and workouts to both her own cycle and the moon, as well as leaning into her own intuition to know exactly what she needs to create to make an impact on this world.
Here are 8 things you need to know about The Goddess Movement:

The method is based on Emily’s barre classes. Barre workouts combine the intensity of strength training with the functionality of pilates, the mindfulness of yoga and the grace of ballet. It is low impact, but high intensity. Barre is aerobic so you are doing cardio without knowing it. It elevates your heart rate, builds stamina and often produces incredible results. Did you know that it is only mainstream fitness method created by a woman? It makes a lot of sense as to why women feel like they feel results quickly.
The Goddess Movement community is designed to challenge traditional mainstream fitness platforms that place huge emphasis on metrics, numbers and statistics and often ignore individual needs, expressions and desires. Emily wants to focus on fun. As someone with a loyal online following, she knows the importance of community. So she has created an intimate and interactive community forum within the platform where people can connect outside of the classes and sessions. As she puts it, “when women unite, magic unfolds”.
It can be easy to feel intimidated by barre. However, Emily wants to guide you through the process. There is a series of 6 x 30min workouts to kickstart your journey with The Goddess Movement, as well as a growing library of short workouts to fit into your day and detailed how-to videos and tutorials to help you to maintain form and master the basics before you hit up anything more advanced. All subscribers also get a free 7 day trial, so there are many ways to get started with no need to feel intimidated!
And if you are already converted to the Barre way of working out, then there’s a Power series for you to get stuck into.

Subscribers will have access to regular live classes with Emily - this is designed to bring together the energy of the global community in real time. It also helps to create consistency (as you are less likely to want to miss the chance to experience a live class!). But rest assured, they will also all be saved in the workout library to access anytime - so you can create a schedule that works for you.
The Goddess Kitchen is where you’ll find our go-to nutrition and hormone specialist (and now Emily’s too!) Sarah Gale, who is the in-house expert on all things hormones and nutrition for the platform. Sarah will be sharing weekly tips & recipes as well as hosting a monthly Q&A with subscribers.

Emily’s passion for empowering women to tap into their powers, no matter what time of the month it is or what external factors they may be dealing with is a huge reason why she created this platform. She wants women to get to know and embrace their bodies on a deeper level, to learn to listen to their intuition and to understand the power they hold when it comes to their ability to create life in this world. Emily is very clear on this - she believes that a woman’s sexual energy is their life force and a menstrual cycle is a part of that. We have different hormones, powers and levels of energy at any given time throughout the cycle. Emily wants us to tap into that and work with it - not against it.

The Lunar Series is completely cycle-synced workout series (that could also be synced to the moon cycle) designed to connect back to this divine feminine magic. You can start it at any time in the cycle - no need to wait for your Day 1. Start where you are. This is a reflection of Emily’s desire to celebrate a woman’s cyclical nature. There is no start and end - just different days and powers.
You can also follow the Lunar Series by syncing it to the moon if you don't have a cycle, meaning you can still move with nature. The Goddess Movement’s community will also have access to monthly moon circles, grounding meditations and journal exercises to help you to look after your whole being all day long. This is so much more than a fitness platform, it's a new way of living.
