I’m Chloe. I love being outdoors, whether that’s in the sunshine, by the beach or surrounded by nature. If I had to choose between a hot or cold holiday, it would always be a hot one! I love travelling, visiting new places and eating all the glorious foods.
I’m also an animal lover and have two cats with completely opposite personalities. And when I’m at home, nothing beats a cosy night in with a good film, a heated blanket and some popcorn or M&S Mini Bites.
I initially studied psychology because I wanted to help people with their mental health. I’ve always believed that everyone should have the opportunity and support to feel both physically and mentally well.
After university, I realised I’d find it difficult to switch off from the pressure of that kind of work every day, so I took some time to figure out what I wanted to do next. While working at a Trust company, I quickly realised I still wanted to help people - I just needed to find the right way to do it.
I've always had an interest in food, from trying new foods and cuisines to wanting to understand what impact they would have on my body, and how powerful that could be in relation to health and wellbeing. That curiosity led me to explore studying nutrition, and I discovered three possible routes: Dietitian, Nutritionist or Nutritional Therapist.
I chose Nutritional Therapy because it incorporates functional medicine, which looks at each person as an individual, considering your personal make-up and nutritional needs, not just your symptoms. It also brings in my psychology background, understanding possible stressors or trauma and how this can impact someone’s current health.
So I went on to study personalised nutrition and then set up my business with one clear goal: to help people feel healthier and happier, while still enjoying food along the way.
I have what I call a “nourish, don’t punish” approach to nutrition.
There’s so much information online these days, and a lot of it is unnecessarily restrictive, often demonising certain foods or entire food groups. This can lead to fear around food, and can set the tone for an unhealthy relationship with food in general.
Instead, I prefer to focus on the power of food, and what it can do for our bodies. Using functional medicine, I work to identify which systems in your body might be out of balance (such as hormones, digestion or detoxification) and then help to restore balance in those areas.
In some cases, we may need to look to remove certain foods, but this is on an individual basis – not a blanket approach!
I also believe in education. In every session, I talk through the science of what might be happening in your body, and how making certain food swaps, or eating in a certain way, will impact your symptoms, rather than simply saying: 'just eat this'.
Understanding the why behind nutrition makes such a difference and really helps with client motivation, compliance and understanding - and ultimately helps clients feel empowered to take control of their health.

Nutrition for me has changed a lot over the last few years. In general I have always eaten a balanced diet and also had a very sweet tooth (both of which are thanks to my mum).
What most people don’t realise, is that I have a chronic autoimmune disease myself – Inflammatory Bowel Disease. This is a relapsing / remitting disease, which means that my diet often has to adapt and change depending on where my health status is. It also means my daily diet may look a little different to the ‘average’ diet – if there is such a thing!
At first, I found this overwhelming, and felt like I was an imposter working in health and nutrition while having an autoimmune disease myself. However, now I realise that it has helped me to dive deep into research which will benefit both my own health and that of my clients.
Living with a chronic condition myself means I really do understand and empathise with how my clients feel when they are unwell.
I’ve been lucky to work with some amazing clients, and it’s been so rewarding to be part of their stories.
One moment that stands out is helping a client who came to me for weight loss and PMS symptoms. She mentioned she’d like to have a second child but knew her chances were lower as she was 45 years old. We worked together regularly, checking in every few weeks, and about eight months ago she let me know she was pregnant with her second child. We’ve continued working together throughout her pregnancy.
Another rewarding moment was working with a client who had recently been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and was taking medication. Her goal was to lose weight and come off the tablets. After working together for four months, she lost the weight and also no longer requires any medication. Her blood sugar levels are back in range, and she has successfully reversed Type 2 Diabetes. Best of all, she is now able to be really active in her grandchildren’s lives as she has more energy and confidence to be able to play with them.
Like many small business owners, I wear a lot of hats. I love working one-to-one with clients and presenting at events, but managing everything else - from social media to bookkeeping and administration - can be a lot to juggle. Still, it’s worth it to do what I love every day.
Living in Guernsey definitely helps me find balance. Having the sea on our doorstep is something I’ll never take for granted. The beaches here are unbeatable and a constant reminder to slow down and breathe. The only downside is the travel connections; planning a quick weekend away isn’t always as simple (or cheap!) as I’d like.
Outside of work, I make time for the things that make me happy - whether that’s karaoke (Waterloo and Man! I Feel Like a Woman are my go-tos), an espresso martini and bottomless brunch with the girls, or a matcha latte after reformer Pilates.
It’s all about balance, right?
