Christmas is coming, ready or not! Whether you’re a last minute Christmas shopper, or have already bought and wrapped all of your gifts, there’s always room for a few more stocking fillers, especially when they are edible and made right here in the Bailiwick.
Here are a few of our local foodie favourites... but wrap them quickly or you might be tempted to keep them for yourself.
Trust us, we know this from experience.

Etai Organic Sea Salt is hand harvested from around the coastline of the Bailiwick and is produced in Guernsey. These stylish little jars of seasoning are beautifully presented and there's a range of different infusion mixes, including Herm Island Lemon and Thyme Sea Salt and Chilli and Lime Sea Salt. You can buy Etai products online, with free delivery in Guernsey.
The Seaweed Food Co harvests seaweed from the Guernsey coastline and dries it to produce little tins of natural seasonings that can be added to your dishes when cooking or sprinkled on top. There are three to choose from, or you buy the complete set in a gift box. You can even go for the Christmas gift wrapped option with the Cracker Gift Box; bypass Santa and have it delivered straight to your foodie friend’s door in time for the big day.
We recently discovered Ooooh Fudge at a Christmas market. They have a tempting selection of fudge you can mix and match, and perfect stocking filler ideas like their kinder fudge stirrers, which are great for kids... and grown ups! to make creamy and luxurious hot fudgy chocolate. And we know we're going a bit off track here, but bear with us... Ooooh Fudge offers a 'batch of fudge' as an after dinner alternative, or a 'pic n mix' table for events! It's certainly not something you'd turn to everyday, but it's a potential sweet grazing option for Boxing Day get togethers with family and friends!
And you may have already noticed that we’re huge fans of Hudge here on The List. This taste sensation was one of the first Love Local with The List stories we brought to you, celebrating the success story of local mumpreneur Mrs Hudge, who sells homemade fudge 'on the hedge' in the Forest. Made with Guernsey butter and milk, there's an ever changing variety of traditional and innovative fudge flavours to choose from, including a tempting selection of seasonal flavours.
With their contactless payments system, the Hudge team is revolutionising the local hedge veg scene and making it easy for us to support the old Guernsey ways in the 21st century... But don't worry, you can still pay by cash if you're old school. Either way, you're supporting local and can give someone a tasty treat in their stocking this Christmas.

If you're looking for a gift for someone who prefers savoury to sweet, what about some local artisan cheese or charcuterie?
Local artisan company Wallow breed and rear their own pigs then cure their charcuterie range on their farm in St Pierre Du Bois. Their livestock roams free in their fields, benefitting from arguably the best sea views on the island! Their range includes chorizo, salami, saucisson... the list goes on!
Torteval Cheese is another of our favourite local delicacies. It's handmade using Guernsey milk and named after local hotspots, such as Fort Grey and Lihou Island. The cheese may be local, but the awards that Torteval Cheese has achieved are global, so if there’s a cheese lover on your Christmas gift list, this is a must.
If you’re looking for local, handmade chocolates, we definitely have that covered here in the Bailiwick, with a range of talented local chocolatiers.
There’s Ben Le Prevost, Guernsey's very own Heston of the chocolate world with his scientific approach and unique flavour combinations. Over in Sark, Caragh Chocolates are made by hand, transported by horse and carriage and then shared with the rest of the Bailiwick (and beyond!) by boat. And you can count on Rebecca's Chocolates for some seasonal inspiration and fun chocolate creations.
We're also fans of The Gourmet Chocolate Collection's hot chocolate stirrers, with marshmallows for the little ones and liquer infusions for grown ups. They're available from The Guernsey Hamper Company's pop up shop.
We want this list to grow, and we know there are many more stocking filler ideas for local foodies...
