1.  Cold Showers.

I started taking cold showers about 4 weeks after my first daughter was born after watching the Wim Hof show on BBC iPlayer. It instantly made me feel like I’d achieved something and also made me feel better afterwards. After doing it every day for a year, I realised that I had totally made it a habit. All I do is turn the shower cold at the end for a minute or two. It wakes me up, it makes me feel great and I’m pretty convinced it keeps my anxiety at bay.

2.  Collagen Coffee.

For years, I have put unflavoured collagen peptides powder in my morning coffee. It’s a brilliant way to get some protein in the morning, it’s great for hair, skin and nails and it’s become such a habit that I hardly ever forget to do it. My current fave is Dose & Co which I pick up from Holland & Barrett in town. I like how it looks on my counter and it’s cheaper than my previous go-to, Vital Proteins.

3.  Skincare.

If there’s one thing I don’t skip in my routine (and one thing I’m willing to spend A LOT of money on), it’s skincare. It always makes me feel better and good and is the perfect self care moment during a busy day. I always at the very least pop on a serum, SPF & tinted moisturiser (this is my ride or die) in the morning. Even if just around the house. I’m not a big make up person but I do love mascara for waking me up.

In the evening, I always do rosehip oil or another serum, often it’s Vitamin C (I used to love Omorovicza, but my current obsession is REN Glow) but recently I’ve been using this Organic Pharmacy gel and the serum (you can buy it as a duo from Plaisirs!) which I actually believed gave me the glow everyone complimented me on last year (not pregnancy as they all thought cos I noticed when I didn’t use it!). During winter or if I’ve had a lot of sun, I also layer on a night cream or mask. My faves are this Jet Lag Mask, or this organic pharmacy mask. I also love this night cream from this works.

4.  Electrolyte Water.

Modern day diets often mean we don’t absorb all of the nutrients that we need from food. Equally, we often don’t properly take in all of the benefits of hydration from the water that we chug. Adding electrolytes to our water solves that as the salts ensure vitamins and minerals are better absorbed into the body - and they make it taste better too.

I learnt this after working with Sarah Gale last summer on her Hormone Reset program. As a busy working mum, I’m all for efficiency, so I just bulk buy them off Amazon, but I’m always open to suggestions so email me if you have any!

5.  Getting Outside.

I love a good walk to clear my head. It works wonders. We’re so lucky here in Guernsey to have access to some enviable scenic walks on our doorstep. Many people say that in order to reset, you should ‘throw some water on it’ - and sometimes having a shower in the middle of the day or having a sea swim does work. Here at The List, we always tell people to get outside. Go for a walk. We love a walking meeting as it helps our ideas flow. But I also love a solo podcast walk. Although I often have a pram with me too these days. My eldest has always enjoyed being outside, so it gets me some steps, headspace and fresh air and it also resets her if she is going a bit stir crazy in the house. Don’t wait for perfect weather. Just get outside.
