5 Ways To Well with Michelle Ayres

Michelle Ayres, Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and Co-creator of The Decider Skills, shares her 5 wellbeing essentials.

1.  Walking The Dogs

My two rescue dogs are a joy. Walking them every day, taking them to new places and chatting to new people on our walks is uplifting.

2.   Being Creative.

I enjoy trying new crafts. Crochet, painting, upcycling furniture, decoupage, needle felting to name but a few. There are always new courses at College of FE that tempt me. I've also recently written a book, Are The Nurses Alright?

3.   Spending Time With my Grandchildren.

I love spending quality time with my grandchildren, walking, swimming, crafting or simply chatting. I love hearing their young perspectives on life and having fun with them.

4.   Listening To Music.

Music is food for the soul. It is a mindful activity that is known to help reduce stress and increase happiness and creativity. I’ve increased the musicality in my life by learning the clarinet and saxophone, singing with the Music Theatre Guernsey choir and I’ve recently joined the Samba Burros.

5.   Theatre and Arts.

Guernsey is blessed with a vibrant music, theatre and arts culture. So much to do, see and experience and I love taking in as much as I can.
