Lucy, crystals expert and owner of Lucy Rose Jewellery, shares her 5 wellbeing essentials.
Crystals bring me so much joy they make my heart burst! They are the reason behind starting my business Lucy Rose Jewellery. I wanted so much to share their beauty and magic. Not only are crystals one of nature’s most visually striking and attractive creations - some forming under intense heat, pressure and with exactly the right environment over thousands of years - each stone holds a different vibrational energy that can support our mental and physical wellbeing and enhance our daily lives. Mostly I wear crystal jewellery to match my intention but I also love carrying palm stones, tumbles and displaying larger crystals around my home.
I absolutely love books, the process and ritual of reading, other worlds that we can step into and dreams we can imagine, all from a cosy armchair with a cup of tea - magical! Stories enable us to get a glimpse of what it might feel like to be someone else, another time, and experience more of the world than we could ever do in one lifetime. Books can offer us (almost) anything we need, whether that is excitement, comfort, education, or inspiration, the list is endless and just waiting to be explored and enjoyed.
Creativity is for everybody (not just artists!). We all have the innate ability to create, it is just about finding what creativity looks like for you, whether it is arts or crafts, writing or cooking, designing or inventing. The benefits of using our creativity are directly linked to wellbeing, such as raising self-esteem, connections through groups and clubs, relaxation and enjoyment, sense of achievement, contribution to community, boosting brain function, elevating our mood, and so many more! When you focus your creative mind and you’re ‘in flow’, nothing else matters, and the world around you seems brighter, because in part, you are helping to make it brighter with your creations.
This realisation had the biggest impact on my life, by far. It is an anchor that I still use to this day. Whenever things throw me off, I ask myself ‘is this truly the case, or am I viewing it as a victim?’ It is a humbling and empowering tool that helps me gain perspective on the situation, understand myself, take responsibility, and move forward positively with a feeling of personal growth and resilience.
This is a New Year’s resolution that came to me for 2025, and I’m loving it! I have chosen 5 healthy activities that range from swimming to stretching, and the rule is that I ‘spin the wheel’ and choose one activity to do each day. Whichever activity I can fit in / have the energy for / feel like, I do that day, and it’s non-negotiable. It doesn’t matter which, it just has to be something that is contributing to my wellbeing, and so far I am loving the sense of achievement and self-care from this healthy habit.
