Jo, Co-founder of the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation, shares her 5 wellbeing essentials.
I start the day with my morning coffee, then it’s off for a dog walk with my two Cockapoos. They’re called Buddy and Fendi, and we adore them. Dog walking in the morning really gets my mind in a clear and healthy space for the rest of the day. There are lots of mental and physical benefits to owning a dog. They bring a lot of joy to our family.
I enjoy keeping fit, I visit the gym once or twice a week. I also love Pilates and always feel recharged after a session. Something I wish I could do more of is treating myself to a relaxing spa day which is a lovely way to let your body rest and recover. Life is really busy but it’s important to make the time to unwind, so it’s on my list…
Travelling around in our motorhome is the best getaway. Over the years we have been to many places around the world – usually racetracks following my husband Andy or my son Sebastian’s motorsport journeys. One year we travelled across America from Florida to Vegas. This experience will stay with me forever. We tend to stay closer to home now, but we do have plans to travel to Ireland and Europe. Plus, we can take the dogs, which is a bonus.
Shopping with my daughter, Danniella, is always a treat. We both have a love of makeup and clothes. I also love the theatre, so nothing beats watching a show in London, especially at Christmas time. That’s another thing – I’m Christmas mad so that time of year always makes me feel happy and grateful.
The Imperial Hotel is my ‘local’ and we often go there for the Friday Meat Draw. Guernsey is such a beautiful island, and you can’t help but feel a little more relaxed down on the west coast. Being in the company of family and friends helps me to switch off at the end of a busy week. I’ll enjoy a glass of wine with them too, because life is too short!
